THINGS THAT SURVIVED THE WINTER
“Things That Survived The Winter” is an interdisciplinary theatre installation exploring resilience in a dynamic and changeful environment. Through the union of circus arts, live soundtrack, and an immersive visual arts setting, audiences are led through a story where characters’ identities become malleable, intertwined and interdependent, breaking apart and combining to express subtle dynamics of life in community. Original music by Rexedog propels structure, resonance and fluidity between concepts and people. Dynamic acrobatics, aerial dance, and balance work by artists from across the US draw metaphors of risk, mastery, and absurdity parallel with those we take in our individual lives. Human-influenced nature shown through video and sculpture reflects the cycles of growth and change that forever construct experience. Together the arc demonstrates that the whole rises to be greater than the sum of its parts.
